Cooking classic grog:

Step 1: Cooking the classic grog.

Compared to the English grog, the classic recipe is much more modest, it is closer to the original, what the sailors drank. Maybe you will like it more, because the taste of various spices and spices overshadows the taste of rum. Pour water into a clean pan and bring it to a boil. If you use already boiled water, then you can just slightly heat it. While the water is warming up, rinse the lemons with running water and cut them in half - it will be easier to squeeze the juice. You can squeeze it immediately with a juicer into a separate cup. Using a strainer, be sure to strain the juice from the pulp. When the water begins to boil, turn down the fire, and begin to pour rum into a thin stream. To measure the exact amount of rum, use a measuring cup. Then squeeze the juice from the halves of the lemon into the pan and add honey. We stir the grog with a kitchen spatula so that the honey dissolves, and then immediately turn off the fire and get wide glasses.

Step 2: Serve the classic grog.

As soon as we removed the pot with the drink from the stove, you can pour it into glasses and serve it to the table. You need to drink grog only in hot, shallow sips, so as not to burn your tongue, or through a straw. A grog prepared according to the classic recipe is still considered the most popular warming drink among the British. Enjoy your meal!

Recipe Tips:

- - Rum is always used to make a classic grog. Jamaican or Bacardi is best suited.

- - Instead of honey, you can use sugar, both refined and sand. And honey is better to use liquid, so that it dissolves faster. You can try different types of honey to get different tastes of grog.

- - Honey must be added to an already hot drink. In this case, it will preserve vitamins and nutrients.

- - Grog refers to medium-alcoholic drinks. At the time of its origin, rum was included in the daily diet of sailors, as a preventive measure against diseases. But now one should not get carried away with rum, grog and other alcoholic drinks.
