Ingredients for making a vegetable salad with crackers

Cooking a vegetable salad with crackers:

Step 1: prepare the bread.

First of all, preheat the oven up to 250 degrees Celsius and cover the baking sheet with a sheet of baking paper. We put the rye bread on a cutting board and with a kitchen knife cut off 3 slices from it up to 1 centimeter thick.

Then we put them on top of each other, cut into a cube up to 1 centimeter and lay out pieces of bread on a prepared baking sheet.

Step 2: prepare the crackers.

We send the baking tray with the bread cubes into the oven preheated to the desired temperature and fry them for 5 minutes. After we mix the crackers with a kitchen spatula, turn off the oven, close the door and leave the crackers in it for another 5 minutes. Then holding the baking sheet with kitchen gloves, remove it from the oven and put it on a cutting board. We shift the crackers into a deep plate and cool.

Step 3: prepare the ingredients.

Using a knife for cutting vegetables, peel onions and garlic cloves, and cut the stalk of the pepper and gut it from the seeds. After we wash them under cold running water from any kind of pollution along with tomatoes, cabbage, cucumber, dill, parsley and cilantro. Shake greens over the sink, and dry the vegetables with paper kitchen towels, getting rid of excess liquid. Then, in turn, we lay all the above ingredients on a cutting board and cut, onion into half rings or quarters up to 4 millimeters thick.

Cucumber rings or half rings up to 5 millimeters thick.

Pepper half rings up to 4 - 5 millimeters thick.

For each tomato, we cut off the place on which the stalk was attached, and cut them into slices, quarters or half rings with a thickness of up to 1 centimeter.

Chop the cabbage into thin strips.

Dill parsley and cilantro just finely chop.

Send slices into a deep bowl.

We squeeze garlic cloves through the garlic press there.

And put 100 grams of already cooled rye crackers.

Step 4: bring the dish to full readiness.

And in order to make the salad not fresh, we add to the vegetables and breadcrumbs a little salt, black pepper and the right amount of mayonnaise 65 - 78% fat.

After we mix all the components of the salad to a homogeneous consistency and let the aromatic mixture infuse for 2 to 3 minutes. During this time, the vegetables will let the juices mix with mayonnaise and soak the crackers, making them more tender and soft.

After the required time has passed, we transfer the salad to the salad bowl or put a portion of the fragrant dish on the plate and serve the dish to the table.

Step 5: serve the vegetable salad with crackers.

Vegetable salad with crackers is served at room temperature, to whet your appetite, before serving the table with the main meat or first hot dishes.

They can also be supplemented with any side dishes, such as cereals from cereals, boiled pasta, boiled rice, mashed potatoes.

You can simply enjoy this light meal without any surplus.

Or use as a side dish for meat dishes.

Do not forget that all the ingredients of the salad are fresh vegetables that deteriorate quite quickly, so you need to eat it immediately after cooking or within 1 hour, after which it will lose its freshness.

This is the only drawback of this dish, but otherwise it is simply divine!

Recipe Tips:

- In addition to black pepper, you can add spices such as paprika, allspice and a pinch of hot chili pepper to the salad.

- Sometimes this type of salad is supplemented with boiled beans, boiled green beans, pickled olives, olives, mushrooms.

- If you want the salad to be more saturated, you need to add the ham and cheese cut into cubes into it.

- For salad dressing, you can use not only mayonnaise, but also any vegetable oils, as well as homemade sour cream or cream.

- If desired, before baking, rye crackers can be soaked with a mixture of vegetable oil and garlic squeezed through a garlic press. Or, after baking, fry them in butter with garlic.
